THE REALITY IS NOT ENOUGH

The page presents the art of six artists. They know each other very well. They read similar books, listen to similar music and watch similar movies. There are hundreds of hours of discussions they had held and many bottles of wine they had drunk together. In spite of the similarities they are very different artists.

It is something unusual that the likeness of cultural experiences and even a likeness of attitudes may result in bringing such different artworks to life. We can watch the variety of art that reflects similarity of reasons. Every one of the six artists is very individualistic and expresses her/his ideas in her/his own specific way. However there are two art areas where they meet. The first one is the similar honesty, continuity and intensity they explore on the chosen art paths. It seems the reasons they started to create art have never changed and they are credible in their works. The second very important area where they meet is an esthetic level of art. They treat the esthetic like an alphabet that allows us to penetrate deeper levels of meaning.

They are aware that art is a challenge to the word and its attractive precision of sense. On the one hand it permits perception and ordering of the world. On the other hand, it narrows down and conventionalizes perception. In their case visual world is in front of the helplessness of the verbal language. In the album you will see something important and significant. There you will find art that says; "The reality is not enough".
Danuta Krupska-Solowiej The seemingly eclectic and delicate world in Danuta Krupska-Solowiej's pictures originates from the lack of the perfect world of heaven. Within a harmonious closed area of her pictures we see an angel and a Robocop together.
>>>>>
Izabela Rudzka The well rooted in tradition painting of Izabela Rudzka easily merges the past and the present, nature and civilization, joy and sadness. In her pictures there is always one light above all that shines indifferently on the abysmal world.
>>>>>
Robert Bartoszek The art of Robert Bartoszek reflects the need to meet the other and his enchantment by the world. His pictures help us to understand that we do not exist without the mirror of the other eyes. They remind the social meaning of art.
>>>>>
Dariusz Glowacki Things taken from our common life are present in Dariusz Glowacki's works. He uses them, as tools to doubt in the limits of recognition and to put questions if we may exceed our bounds. He wants to go beyond the way we used to see things.
>>>>>
Stein Edvard Nerland Stein Edvard Nerland explores symbols and myths that are present in children's games and tales and the phenomenon of the ocean. Through his art he formulates baffling and inconvenient questions we should try to answer.
>>>>>
Krzysztof Solowiej The rich and unlimited imagination of Krzysztof Solowiej lets him mix very different materials and ideas within new logic structures. His objects/sculptures open a completely new world of meanings and symbolic senses.
